Maker-space.eu ist ein Projekt im Rahmen der Kulturhauptstadt Europas Chemnitz 2025. Diese Maßnahme wird mitfinanziert durch Steuermittel auf der Grundlage des vom Sächsischen Landtag beschlossenen Haushaltes und durch Bundesmittel des Beauftragten der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien sowie durch Mittel der Stadt Chemnitz.

Everything at ESCHE is under the sign of mesh. The museum presents the history of local textile production and in the entire region with a focus on knitting and hosiery, from stockings to Malimo sewing knits. The Esche LAB provides a modernly equipped textile workshop that offers space for experimentation, participation, trying out, learning. Here various educational formats and workshop offers take place, but independent work is also possible. It is our concern to pass on and further develop the intangible knowledge of textile techniques and products. We provide free spaces for textile creators.
