Description

We are a socio-cultural youth project in Chemnitz and are looking for creative support for a two-day workshop on the topic of textile upcycling. Our goal is to provide young people aged between 13 and 18 with a practical approach to sustainability, fashion and self-efficacy.

We are looking for a maker with experience in textiles, fashion design or upcycling, who is excited to inspire young people for creative design with used materials. In the workshop, old clothes, fabric scraps or second-hand finds are to be transformed into new, individual favourite pieces - whether through sewing, dyeing, printing or reworking. It is important to us to have an open and empowering approach: it is less about perfect technique and more about expression, self-confidence and the shared creative experience.

We would like to develop the exact workshop concept together with you. Previous knowledge of the participants is not necessary - curiosity is absolutely sufficient.

What we can offer:

  • Fee within the frame of our workshop budget

  • Access to our open workshop room including sewing machines, materials and tools

  • Promotion of the workshop through our channels and regional networks

  • If interested, possibility of subsequent cooperation (e.g. further workshops, exhibition of results)
